Finishing a quilt for someone is an honor — it means we’re being trusted with a piece of their story. Every quilt top holds love, memories, and time, and when we add the final stitches, we’re helping to bring that story full circle..

This is my Story

Susan Treat Richardson is originally from Marshall, Arkansas, where her love of sewing began in a high school home economics class taught by Mrs. Tilley. Building on the skills she learned there, Susan dove into garment sewing as her family grew—making nearly all of her daughters’ clothing when they were young.

Over the years, her passion evolved to include machine embroidery and quiltmaking. Her very first quilt project, Feels Like Spring by Smith Street Designs, was accepted into the prestigious Spring Paducah Quilt Show—a memorable milestone that fueled her enthusiasm for the craft.

Susan has since invested in a collection of high-quality tools, including several BERNINA sewing and embroidery machines, sergers, and a longarm quilting machine. She shared her expertise as a BERNINA instructor at The Sewing Center Etc. in Conway, Arkansas, for about five years, where she taught embroidery and machine mastery classes, quilting techniques, and a variety of creative sewing projects.

Now based in Clinton, Arkansas, Susan and her husband Dennis have transformed a local storefront into a welcoming creative space. It’s here that she continues to enjoy—and share—her love of quilting, embroidery, and the joy that comes with making something beautiful by hand.
